Many African children, especially those living in the rural areas of the continent, do not shop for clothes. There are no Wal-marts or K-marts, and their families generally do not have the money to buy them new clothes.
For these children, clothes acquired from used clothes dealers or from donors are handed down from one to another until they are nothing but rags. The same goes for their mothers and other women whose preoccupation with the survival of their families does not leave much time to think about the latest fashions.
This undignified existence is unjustifiable in a world in which perfectly good clothes are discarded into garbage dumps when they could decently clothe a child somewhere at a cost of pennies for the shipping.
Before you dump your used clothes, give Nascent Solutions a call or send us an email and we'll figure out how to get them to a deserving and grateful young recipient in Africa.
