Nascent Solutions was able to respond to the Uganda floods of 2007 and other emergency situations because of your invaluable support.

Since 2005 we have shipped over 15 forty-foot containers of humanitarian commodities including food, medication, medical equipment and supplies, books, computers, clothing and footwear valued at about $2,000,000.

This assistance has benefitted over 20,000 poor people in rural Cameroon and Uganda, including orphans and other vulnerable children as well as denizens of IDP camps.

These commodities improve the lives of the communities, and services of the local institutions that respond to their needs in general.

Increasing numbers of children especially in the remote parts of Africa do not know what it is to be a child, they cannot afford a meal a day, don't have the privilege of seeing a doctor or joining their friends in school to play and learn. Some are obliged to assume adult responsibilities.

With your continuous support, Nascent reaches out to put a smile on a face, provide a meal, clothes, and ensures that a child has a note book or pencil to take to school. Since 2005 Nascent has reached over 30,000 children in Cameroon and Uganda and is currently expanding the effort to Zambia where the organization will be providing take home rations to some 1000 children living with HIV/AIDS and a meal a day for an additional 500 in the orphanages and hospitals in the Mpika district of northern Zambia.

Nascent Solutions' food aid programs have improved the nutrition and health of over 25,000 vulnerable children in Cameroon and Uganda. Our school feeding programs include de-worming and growth monitoring components that ensure not only the effectiveness of the programs, but an accurate measure of such effectiveness. We are thus able to provide accurate feedback to our donors and sponsors and also gain greater insight into the needs of our beneficiaries and the best approaches to serve them.

Nascent Solutions also provides training in sanitation and nutrition to care givers of HIV/AIDS orphans. In collaboration with the International Medical Equipment Collaborative (IMEC) and the Health Apostolate of the Diocese of Kumbo, Nascent Solutions is seeking funding for a Center of Health Project for the region.

Nascent Solutions partners with faith and community based organizations to foster the protection of the rights of the child, protect children and women from violence and abuse, especially domestic violence and child labor.

In partnership with the Women's Empowerment Institute of Cameroon (WEICAM) and Know the Truth International Ministries, Nascent Solutions designs and delivers interventions that will provide rural women and youth opportunities to defend their rights and protect themselves from violence and other practices that have taken thousands of lives in the developing world. We offer year- long training seminars on human rights, prevention of domestic violence and other forms of abuse.

Nascent Solutions is working with the Teso Widow's' Development Initiative (TEWIDI) to implement similar programs in the Teso region in Uganda.

Nascent Solutions enables its target communities to map out their potential and capabilities and provides opportunity for them to acquire market-based skills that facilitate access to employment. We provide our target populations with seed capital and help them to form cooperatives, create and manage economically rewarding microenterprises.

Nascent Solutions strives at bringing children who do not have access to formal education an opportunity to learn to read and write. Our primary focus is on the girl child and to nomads whose life style does not allow the children to participate in regular education programs. We support the formal education sector through:

• Nascent Solutions supports formal education in Cameroon through a School feeding program that improves the nutrition of children in 50 village schools, improves sanitation and revive the long forgotten concept of school gardens.
• Nascent consults stakeholders and builds capacity for the target communities to adopt modern agricultural practices that will enable them to fight malnutrition
• Improve educational performance among school aged children.

In partnership with the Kilum strategic Development group (KISDEG) Nascent Solutions has enabled over 300 nomadic children in Akeh, in the Funding Division to enroll in primary education, construct two classrooms and provided educational supplies. We are seeking funding to extend the effort to other villages.
